Excellent choice!
Stayed in Sofitel Victoria for 2 nights in December 2007. The hotel couldn't be better located for tourists: It's right on the Unknown Soldier square, some 100 meters from the Royal Route that boasts many important buildings, and which itself leads to the Royal Castle and Old Town after a 5-10 minute pleasant walk through many beatiful sites (palaces, churches etc). Also, the Warsaw Aiport Bus (175) line finishes exactly in the square infront of the hotel, so if you're arriving in and/or leaving from Warsaw by air, transferring to the hotel with this bus is as easy as 1-2-3, and costs about a dollar!
Appart from the location, any hotel stuff we talked to were all excellent professionals and very helpful and kind. The breakfast buffet is luxurious. The room was spaceous and the bathroom very large too. There was a free wired Internet connection (LAN) in the room. The rooms are cleaned twice daily if needed, and every afternoon complimentary chocolate candys are delivered to the room, together with a local weather forecast for the next day. Finally, GTAhotel's price was the lowest on the Internet, and made it a bargain not to be missed!
If I had to make one complaint, that would be about the floor carpet in both the room and corridors, that looked a little aged and not at par with the rest of the hotel which was shiny clean, but that was really a minor issue.
For my next trip to Warsaw, the Sofitel Victoria would be on the top of my list! |

"Imposing City hotel"
We returned to this hotel for one night on Thursday 1 September 2005. Located in the University quarter, towards the reconstructed old town, it is away from the noise and clamour of Warsaw Central railway station (where the Novotel is located). The imposing building looks out on a huge square. The hotel has a spacious entrance hall with tasteful new furniture introduced since we last stayed there. This time we paid EUR 125 including buffet breakfast (look for a rate which includes breakfast as otherwise it costs EUR 20 which it is not worth)
Room 622 had plush décor with two firm beds. Bathroom was compact, clean and modern with good toiletries (though no toothpaste nor toothbrush).
Swimming pool in basement is 15m and open 0700 Monday--Friday (later at weekends).
The hotel seems popular for up-market conferences. We should certainly stay again.

"Great Hotel"
Never have we experience such consciencious attention to the wishes of a guest from a hotel concierge. All of our email messages requesting information prior to the trip were answered within five minutes with extremely helpful information. We were able to arrange private tours and times of convenience to us very efficiently. The breakfasts that were included with our room were superb, and the rooms comfortable and quiet.

"Perfect!"
This is the hotel to stay in if you travel to Warsaw! The staff here is so friendly and helpfull, you just feel like you're the most important person in the world. Really, they are amazing. The facilities are above average, but not the best. But you relly don't spend so much time there; if you're not in the room, you're out exploring the amazing city life in Warsaw. The location of the hotel could not be better, with just minutes walk from the Old Town and other great facalities. The breakfast is very good, you get the perfect start to the day here!
